Rock -n- Roll Monster Bash 2009

The place to be last Sunday was at The Rock -n- Roll Monster Bash at the Starlight Drive-In.

It was a congregation of Atlanta subcultures; punk, rock-a-billy, horror, tattoo, biker, hot rod and more. For me it was a chance to go out for a day with the hubby and see good friends and just enjoy being in the element.

We arrived around 1:30 and commandeered a spot for the tent. We came prepared; tent, chairs, fans, cooler, lots o'water and lunch. Here was our glorious taj mahal.

Note our neighbors - the silver Miata to the right. They had a wonderful raspberry vodka soaked, ice cold watermelon. Yum! It was a very friendly crowd.

One of the cooler things there were all the different vehicles; from vintage to novelty, two-wheeled to four-wheeled. I didn't take nearly enough pictures to do justice to all of them. As I was leaving the vendors area, these two came by...

The DEAD ENDS HOT ROD HEARSE CLUB was out in force. They even had a Ghost Buster's car but my favorite was the Taxi Cab hearse! We were lucky enough to be camped out right behind the club.

The Monster Bash was sponsored by the Silver Scream Spook Show so Prof. Morte and his band played a few sets.

I found this around the corner from the stage. It is one of the prop pieces from the the H2 Phantom Jam scene in Newborn.

Of course, no event is complete without some Star Wars thrown in and just to think, we weren't even responsible for it...

But what made the entire event worth while was seeing old friends and making new ones.
