H2: The Brackett House

I found the shooting location. It is in an old house between Madison and Newborn. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. The Crew and Truck parking is in a pecan field about 1/2 mile down the road from the actual film site.

The house looks the part. I could see that they had blacked out the windows with a covering. I assume they are concentrating on interior night scenes. They are calling the location the "Brackett House". I'm not sure how that figures in to the story. Please correct if I'm wrong but the only time you really see/hear about the Brackett House (Sheriff Leigh Brackett's house) is in the original 1978 Halloween. I cannot remember it from Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007). I'm really wondering what they are filming for so long....

Anywho, here is the house...

The bad news is there is no getting close to it. There are 2 fences and a gated driveway between the road and the house and, as you can see, there is no going up a side road or down a back road. It literally sits in the middle of a wide open field.

The rest of the bad news, according to my intel, is they will be shooting here until March 12th. So, unless I can find some connection or a small miracle happens, I won't have any new H2 stuff before March 13th. It's times like this I wish I had Press Credentials!

Sorry for the bad news :(

Thanks for the update! I live in Covington and somehow just found out about the movie. (Apparently, I also live under a rock.) Please keep us updated whenever you get any info. I had plans to find the shoot, but if they are filming there until the 12th I guess there is no use. Do you know if they are filming anywhere else in Madison or Covington? Or how long they are gonna be here? Thanks again.

Thanks for the update!! The Madison shooting schedule sounds about right to me, too. :( I have the schedule for the City of Covington and they're not supposed to shoot here again until March 16.
BTW - met Rob last week on the square too .. what a nice guy! Even though I've been totally in love with him for years, I had no idea he would be SO nice and accommodating - How refreshing!! :) Got some good shots I'd love to share with you. And Great Blog!! Thanks for keeping us posted!

Call time March 16 & 17 is 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. at two different residences in Covington. One is on Conyers Street (March 16) and the other is on Monticello Street (March 17). The schedule I have is from Feb. 16, so if I get more info, I'll post it here.

I've heard that they may be shooting at the Newborn Fertilizer Co. sometime soon. Keep a look out.

Dude what about the Newborn Fertilizer Co??

I spoke to the city council and they told me they plan to film there- will that be the Rabbit In Red Lounge? I know they are looking for costumed extra's and well I'm hoping that's the place and that none of it's been filmed yet. Cause I'm still working on my costume...

You should just walk right up and tell them you are writing a blog to follow Rob's work on Halloween. You never know....

If anyone has any info on filming 3/13 or 3/14, please let me know. Have a couple of days off together and wanted to take advantage of the time.

Thanks in advance,

Michael...no pun intended

I'm going to try and comment on everything in one post.....

Leigh-Anne, darlin', I have not actually scored a schedule!! How did you get your hands on that?? Regardless, thanks for sharing what you know. Ii would love to see your photos. Do you have a photobucket account?

The Newborn Fertilizer shot sounds good. Anybody have any dates???

I'm interested in the Covington Schedule for 3/16-17. I heard they were filming some night shots at Alcovy High School at that time. Then again, I got that info 3rd hand....

Have you been called as an extra in the costume party scene? That's AWESOME!! I would love to see that whole scene shoot!

I have a good mind to ask if I can come onto the set and take pix for the blog. Maybe I'll try to make a few phone calls this weekend.

Can't thank everyone enough for sharing all the info!! Thanks!

Annabella - Here's a link to my Photobucket album: http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc218/laburgess9/H2/

I got the schedule from a friend who works for the City who received the schedule for his job. I only have a paper copy, but I'll sit down this weekend and copy it out for you. There are also a couple of other dates in late March and early April scheduled for Covington. There are no Alcovy dates on the schedule I have, but I heard they were gonna be there, too. I'm thinking they may do those shots around school holidays (no school April 6, I think), but that's completely a guess.

If you get set access, I'd LOVE to come along and help you out. No calls to be an extra YET, but I've got my fingers crossed!

Great MJar26! If they are filming anywhere I can get close too on 3/16, I'll probably be there. As time gets closer we'll all nail down more details :) Good luck on the young Micheal Myers call-back. I had an email from bloody-disgusting.com the other night asking if I knew who the new young Myers was going to be.

Definitely let me know about Zombieland. I really want to see some of the filming, especially if it gets closer to my neck of the woods.

Yeah, I agree, we are doing a pretty good job with the movie tracking!

Thanx for all the updates Black Bunny!! You're more on top of it than some of the horror sites following the filming!

FYI... The Bracketts, Annie and Sheriff Leigh, were in fact in the remake. Danielle Harris, who originally played Jamie Lloyd (the daughter of Laurie Strode)in 1988's Halloween 4 and 1989's Halloween 5, was cast as Annie Brackett in the remake. So she was basically playing her own mother's best friend! HA!

The only difference was that in RZ's remake, Danielle Harris' Annie (presumably and probably) lived where Nancy Loomis's 1978 Annie was not as fortunate. Thus, the need for a shoot at the 'Brackett House'.

Keep up the good work!!! ;-)

Thanks for the compliment and the info on the Brackett House. Now it makes sense why they would be shooting there. Thanks!

Thank U so much for all these awesome updates. I have been following Rob & Sheri's movies since the mere mention of HOTC and been a die hard fan of his music since the 80s. It's hard to find this kinda updates on Bloody Disgusting & Shock Till You Drop so I am definately following UR blogs!

I was there during the shoot at Newborn Fertilizer farm yesterday (3/24) from 11am til 2am. Shooting resumed today 11am and is expected to extend until late. Yesterday's nightclub" party scenes were filmed inside the large barn, and several outdoor scenes were filmed behind the building near the train tracks and old church. Overheard a crew member saying there would be a "cow crash" scene involving a fake cow with exploding guts...

Very cool. Were you one of the extras??? If so, what type of costume were you wearing. I saw a lot of the extras going in :)

I had heard something about a cow from another blog reader. It should be interesting to say the least.....
