H2: The Rabbit in Red

Friday was the best 'spectator' day I've had since the 2 days filming in Covington back at the end of February.

Photobucket

I arrived in Farrar about 4pm. I parked at small store past the location and walked back down to the set.

I joined a couple of local teenagers watching the action from across the street and struck up a conversation with a Jasper County Sheriff's Deputy. One thing I have to say, every security person I have encountered on this film has been amazing nice. He told me the community had been in a complete uproar (especially the Pastor of the local church) about the signage on the side of the building.

He also told me Tyler Mane was supposed to be on set around 7p and that they were filming 3 murders. SCORE!!

I was making small talk with the locals when I saw this guy rounding the corner in front of the "Rabbit in Red" carrying a bag and some cokes. He stopped, looked over and motioned for me to come over. I motioned back to make sure he meant me. I walked over an lo and behold it Micheal (MJagr26). He had scored the perfect spectator spot at a flea market directly behind the Rabbit in Red. The flea market folks where great and let us hang out there the rest of the evening. Here are some of the GREAT folks I met...

We had the opportunity to watch them film 2 scenes with Ezra Buzzington as Ned Atkins the Beer Truck driver...

One of the COOLEST things that happened was the guy that has been doing all the 'behind the scenes' filming asked if he could come over and talk to us. Our answer? Of Course!!! It's a one-in-a-million chance that we will make the DVD extras but it was just too cool. The next awesome thing as seeing Tyler Mane. We had heard he drove himself to the set (opposed to taking one of the vans in with everyone else). We were standing around talking and one of the crew yells "Tyler's here!". We all look and there he is pulling into the set. Couldn't get a picture (well, I did but all you see is car).

Photobucket

After that, Micheal (and I tagged along) walked over to the gate that led to the 'star' trailers. We could see Tyler and Ezra walking around. We also saw someone in ghost makeup and a wig net. We had no idea who it was at the time. Later, learned it was Sheri Moon Zombie.

As the sun went down and the temperatures dropped, more spectators started to show up. I'm not sure what happened but by 8pm, the crew was clearing everyone from the area - No Spectators. Bummer. While I was disappointed that I didn't get to see Myers in action, it was my best 'stars' sighting.

I will snoop around the Covington film locations on Monday but they are all interior shots. It may end up being a bust to watch. We'll see.

Jonathan, I would LOVE to see your night pictures. I tried to take one on my way out but it is nothing but one large blur. Do you have them uploaded to the web somewhere? Would it be OK if I posted some of them on the Bunny Blog?

Great recap Anabella. I really wish I had gotten contact info for everyone we met. They really were great people. It makes the time that much better when you have folks to talk movies with that share the same interests. If any of you guys from Friday read this please send me your contact info to MJagr26@aol.com

They are filming on the corner of Conyers St and Elizabeth St in a white house today. It's off the square in Covington. Still wondering where they will be for the next few days :(

Sucks I missed ya brandon! Looking forward to meeting you soon. If you head back towards the square, the cast trailers are behind the first methodist church on the right. Thats where Rob was coming from when we met him. Good Luck!! See you on the next venture. I hear they are filming in Buckhead later this week at the Intercontintental Hotel. I think it's Wed-Fri. Not sure though check local listings :)

I'm sorry I missed everyone! I was wondering around the plantation house in the rain for about 20 minutes on Monticello Street but couldn't really see anything.

Brandon, for some reason I cannot get the link to work?? I would love to see those pictures. At some time, we need to arrange a meet-up for everyone at one of the film locations.

MJagr26, I stole 2 of your pictures off of MySpace (the house & your pic with Zombie.) Can I repost them on the blog?

Leigh-Anne, did you get to check anything out today??

To All, from the intel I received tonight, filming will be in Decatur tomorrow. I cannot make that. If anyone heads that way - take pictures because my camera met an untimely death tonight and I am not sure when I can get it replaced!!!

Wow I am sorry to hear about your camera. Such a crucial tool during these exciting times. You are always free to use anything you need from me. :) I am totally up for a get together. With all of the filming going on in GA this might be the beginning of some beautiful relationships! Let me know what you come up with.

MJagr26 - Congrats on meeting Rob!! I can't wait to see yours and everyone else's pics!!!! (MySpace and PhotoBucket are unfortunately blocked here at work.)

Annabella - I didn't go down there yesterday cause I figured there really wouldn't be anything to see, but I'd love to meet up with everyone at the next location. Heard any details yet? The only info I have is that they're shooting at another house on Conyers Street (address is 2166) on Tuesday, March 24. It's the exterior of the Myers house and the scene is "Strange Things Happen."
